The little red hen works hard. Not so her friends the goose, the cat, and the pig. They refuse to help plant the wheat, tend the wheat, harvest the wheat, take it to the mill to be ground into flour, or bake the cake. The only thing they will help with is eating the bread -and the little red hen will have none of that. A nice lesson in cooperation and enjoying the fruits of one's labor.
