Traino loves to wander around Pompeii and see what's happening in the busy city. One day, Traino sees the sky fill with smoke. He escapes to the harbor where he watches Mount Vesuvius erupt from the safety of a boat. The well-told story provides a context for the disaster, and the unique, terra-cotta hued illustrations are gorgeous.
